COLUMBUS, OHIO'S PREFERRED
PAVING CONTRACTOR
A catch basin is one of the hardest-working points in a parking lot. Pavement grades direct water toward it, vehicle tires repeatedly cross the surrounding area, and the structure creates a rigid interruption in a flexible asphalt surface. Settlement, cracked collars, loose frames, failed asphalt, and poor transitions can develop when the supporting material moves or water reaches the area below.
Tolliver & Curl evaluates the basin frame, surrounding pavement, concrete collar or adjustment material, drainage grade, and depth of the visible failure. The damaged area is removed far enough to reach sound material. Unstable base is corrected, the frame or adjustment components are reset when included in the scope, and the collar or surrounding pavement is rebuilt to the proper elevation. The final transition is shaped and compacted so water can reach the inlet without leaving a sharp bump, low ring, or ponding area.

WHY IT MATTERS
Damage around a catch basin tends to spread because the area carries both water and traffic. Cracks allow more moisture into the pavement structure. A low or rocking frame increases impact from tires and snowplows. Settlement can create a bowl that holds water beside the inlet instead of moving it into the drainage system. Repeated patching at the surface will not solve movement below the patch.
A durable repair requires the pavement, supporting material, frame elevation, and drainage grade to work together. The work should also distinguish between a pavement-structure problem and a blocked or damaged underground drainage line, which may require separate investigation. Correcting the surrounding support and transition protects the basin area and helps the parking lot drain as intended.

WHY CHOOSE TOLLIVER & CURL
Tolliver & Curl has worked around parking lot drainage structures across Central Ohio since 1952. Our team understands that a catch basin repair is not just a ring of surface patch. We evaluate support, elevation, surrounding pavement, and drainage; remove the complete failed area; rebuild the transition; and coordinate related asphalt or concrete work so the repair fits the larger pavement system.
