COLUMBUS, OHIO'S PREFERRED
PAVING CONTRACTOR
Concrete is often the right material where pavement must carry concentrated loads, hold a defined edge, form a drainage structure, or provide a durable pedestrian surface. On commercial paving projects, concrete and asphalt usually have to work together. The transition between them matters just as much as the individual materials.
Tolliver & Curl installs and repairs concrete elements that support larger parking lot and pavement projects, including sidewalks, curbs, dumpster pads, aprons, catch basin collars, and accessibility improvements. The work begins with removal and subgrade or base preparation. Forms establish line and grade, reinforcement or load-transfer details are included where the design requires them, and concrete is placed, consolidated, finished, jointed, and cured. Adjacent asphalt is then tied in at the correct elevation to reduce impact, ponding, and premature edge failure.

WHY IT MATTERS
Concrete may make up a smaller portion of a paving project, but its impact is significant. Curbs, sidewalks, aprons, and other concrete elements establish critical elevations, transitions, and boundaries throughout a commercial property.
Careful coordination between concrete and asphalt helps create smooth transitions, consistent grades, and a finished project that functions as intended. Every element has a purpose, and getting those details right helps the entire pavement system work together.
